This Apple Strudel Pie Tart was inspired by the classic apple Strudel. Apple Strudel is one of the most classic sweet dishes you can find in Austria and in particular in Vienna. Here every cafe you go to you will find a Apple Strudel. Some Cafes serve it with Vanilla Sauce others with Powdered Sugar.

Its perfect with coffee or tee and the most simple dish that tastes divine. The most difficult part of Apple strudel is probably the pastry dough, in Greece it is called Filo Dough. When backed its extremely fluffy.

I have tried Pastry Dough several times and haven't succeeded yet. The dough needs to be super thin to achieve the perfect Apple Strudel. Needles to say that I opted for store bought Pastry Dough that happened to be vegan.

For all Austrian readers the pastry dough by the Clever brand is 100 % vegan and retailed at 0.58 Cent.

I use an old recipe for these Apple Strudel Pie Tarte that requires only four ingredients. There is no sugar added to this recipe the only sweetness comes from the raisins and any agavesirup you add.
